Case of resin CBN grinding wheel for HSS circular saw blade

What is HSS circular saw blade?

The high-speed steel circular saw blade is a saw blade composed of a large amount of carbon (C), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), chromium (Cr), vanadium (V) and other elements. It has high thermal hardness after heat treatment. Since the cutting temperature of high-speed steel is as high as 600°C, the hardness still does not drop significantly, and the cutting speed of the saw blade made of it can reach more than 60 meters per minute. High-speed steel circular saw blades are used in a wide range of general non-ferrous metals, cast iron, carbon steel, alloy steel, etc., but they cannot be used for high-speed cutting.

Recently, we have a circular saw blade customer who mainly manufactures carbide and high-speed steel circular saw blades. The customer wants to grind the cutting edge with Moresuperhard resin diamond and resin CBN products. In addition, he also hopes to distribute some products, grinding heads. The customer want to order a resin CBN grinding head for grinding the edge of a circular saw blade of the customer. We speculate that it should be used for finish dressing.

Through the product specifications described by the customer and the pictures given, Moresuperhard Technology Department makes corresponding drawings for the products described by the customer and communicates with the customer for confirmation.

After repeated communication, it was finally determined that the CBN grinding head of this specification was used for the final step of grinding the circular saw blade cutter edge.

Then the customer sent the type of grinding wheel he needed for processing his own products — 14F1 resin CBN grinding wheel, 12M2 and 12V9 resin diamond grinding wheels.

The abrasive layer of the grinding wheel has a small included angle to grind different positions.

The customer grinds high-speed steel saw blades with resin CBN grinding wheels, and grinds carbide saw blades with resin diamond grinding wheels. The customer uses 12V9  machines for wet grinding of workpieces. In the machine tool, the customer uses grinding fluid to cool down and remove chips.
