Regulating wheel

Centerless grinding has two wheels: a regulating wheel and a grinding wheel. The regulating wheel drives the cylindrical workpiece to rotate on the work rest, and the grinding wheel grinds the workpiece. Therefore, in the centerless grinding process, grinding wheel, regulating wheel and supporting plate（work rest）, three indispensable. The regulating wheel, also called the regulating wheel of the centerless grinder, the rubber regulating wheel, and the centerless grinding wheel/centerless grinding support plate together act on the grinding machine,the regulating wheel is most often made of hard rubber and abrasive and its role is instrumental in moving the part being ground through the grinder by either a Through-feed or In-feed process.

The regulating wheel is matched with the grinding wheel to support the workpiece, adjust the grinding area and control controls the peripheral speed, the grinding pressure and, in the case of through-feed grinding, the feed speed of the workpiece. It is soft and elastic and plays an important role in centerless grinding.
